I want to stack 2 or 3 10 m beams on a telescoping tower, but the boom to mast guying makes it difficult when the tower is telescoped down. Can MOMO5 10 and MOMO6 10 be reinforced and build without the boom to mast guying?
Good morning, Mr. Palle. This is Giuseppe from Momobeam.
Yes, we can build a 5-element antenna for 28 MHz without the boom to mast guying. For the D4C contest station, we’ve built a special version with a 600 cm boom that doesn’t require boom guying. The standard version with a 780 cm boom can also be built without boom guying. It will weigh a few kg more, but it won’t be a problem. I would be cautious about the 6-element antenna for 10 meters, as it has a very long boom, and ice and snow could damage it.
If you’d like, I can email you radiation patterns and photos. I remain at your disposal.
